Help at Home

I have gone for the cute factor this evening. Please welcome Trooper, the seven year old ginger rescue mog with half a tail. Like all home workers, there are many distractions but my cat has decided that having folk at home is great and wants to constantly spend time with me. Nice, but can be a trifle distracting.

A day in the life of this chunky mog revolves round food and sleep. Without any of the occupants at home, it usually means eating breakfast around 7am, sitting in the hallway as the madness of the morning routine goes on around him, then into the sitting room for a good 8 hours sleep on the sofa.  When the eighteen year old comes home from school he might emerge for a free cuddle before returning to his bed of choice.

Disrupt this daily routine with a couple of females who decide to work from home. Noise from video calls, constant visits to the kitchen for coffee, radio on at lunchtime, washing machine, dishwasher...life has just become tough! However, having humans in the house means extra attention so why not just move base to somewhere where the humans are working. Yes, my study. So Trooper has taken over the spare chair in my study and has become a bit of a virtual star in the background of many a video conferencing call. Luckily he is mainly asleep, sometimes snoring, but thankfully no embarassing backdrops of a cat performing his daily wash routine. Well, not yet anyway!
