Friday Photos but not a Fairy in sight

One of the things I am trying to do during lockdown is get out and about, whether an early morning bike ride or out for a run for a couple of miles (depending on those ol' knees!). Occasionally, I accompany the tall child on a walk in the area which we live, a circuit of about 1.4 miles, just enough to warrant an extra piece of chocolate with my coffee.

At the top of the lane opposite our house is a small wood, Since the tall child has been a small child we have ventured through this wood, in wind, rain and sunshine, watching it change over the seasons and the years. Tackling the mud and stinging nettles, it can feel quite a challenge to get through the place unscathed!  It also has a sort of fairy feel about it - overarching branches, snowdrops, tumbling plants and rambling undergrowth. At any moment you feel that small animals will appear to sing a twee little song, just like a Disney film.

Today as we wondered through, I stopped to take a photograph 'because I like the composition' I explained to N. I'm no David Bailey here, but I do like to feel that I have an eye for a photo. Many may disagree, but as I can't hear them I'll continue in my own photographic dreamworld. You may all look at the photo on this post and think I've lost it (and you may be right...) but I loved the complex, rambling feel to this. The pink foxglove emerging from the undergrowth - the sort of place fairies would live. Maybe I should collect a series of photos and make them into calendars for folk as Christmas presents. Not sure if people would appreciate them, but I certainly would enjoy the challenge of taking the photos!
