#VJDAY75
Over the last few days there has been a rise in interest in the forthcoming 75th anniversary of VJ (Victory over Japan) Day on 15th August. News items, videos on social media, organisations publicising what they can do within the restrictions...suddenly there has been an upsurge in interest. And rightly so.
I spent yesterday writing a press release to highlight how the Museum are going to commemorate VJ Day. I searched the internet to find out what other organisations, such at the Royal British Legion and Imperial War Museum, are doing and came across some logos (seen here on the blog post) which have been produced by the Government for general use. Handy, as I had not seen these before! There is also a hashtag #VJDay75 which we will start using next week to ensure we connect with national events.
Our external display stands are finished and we await delivery this friday, when I will be working wiht Andy, the designer, to put them together on the parade square, complete with photographic and text panels. Supported by Bandoola Productions, this is the first time we have tackled anything like this. And I am very excited to see the final result. We have already had some press interest, so hopefully this will help commemorate the Forgotten Army, 75 years on.
